August 28, 2018 • Page 12 shop online at www.missourivalleyshopper.com ‘SiouxperCon 2018: Return Of The Con’ Set For SF Sept. 28-30 SIOUX FALLS — “SiouxperCon: 2018 Return of the Con,” presented by Black Hills Federal Credit Union, comes to the Sioux Falls Convention Center Sept. 28-30. The third annual show will host a full roster of guests and several new and improved features. Notable special guests appearing throughout the show weekend includes Shea Fontana (“DC Super Hero Girls” and “Doc McStuffins”), Alyson Court (“X-Men: The Animated Series” and “The Big Comfy Couch”), Tamara Glynn (“Halloween 5” and “Freddy’s Nightmares”), Jason Marnocha (Megatron from “Transformers”), Jill Thompson (“Sandman” and “Wonder Woman”), Tony Fleecs (“My Little Pony”) and more. The guest list will also include popular voice actors, prominent comic talent, and professionals from comedy and cosplay. In addition to the guest lineup, the convention will offer attendees an exhibit hall containing more than 75 vendor booths, extensive programming and an artist alley featuring diverse talent. Highlighted special features include the hugely popular SiouxperCon After Dark with events like Midwest All Pro Wrestling’s SiouxperMania, concert by the Hip Hop group DAD, comedy shows and more. The con also welcomes the return of the biggest Cosplay competition in the regions, which has now expanded to a children’s cosplay competition on Family Day Sept. 30. There are dozens of panels to attend throughout the convention including events such as The Magic of Travis Nye, Women’s Creator Panel, creating comics and seven rooms of board gaming, role play gaming and video gaming. SiouxperCon hours will be: • Friday, Sept. 28 — noon to 1 a.m.* • Saturday, Sept. 29 — 10 a.m.-1 a.m.* • Sunday, Sept. 30 — 10 a.m.-5 p.m. * — Exhibit Hall closes at 8 p.m. All Saturday After Dark activities are 18 and older. SiouxperCon has quickly grown into the most anticipated annual Siouxland nerd event. From its humble beginnings as a question posed on Facebook, SiouxperCon morphed into an event that aims to celebrate all nerdoms in a safe, educational, and inclusive environment.
