The Redhead Express is a dynamic family of nine, originally from Alaska, and now residing in Nashville. They set out on a journey from Alaska in 2007 that would change their lives forever. In the beginning, they were just going to spend a few months on the road, studying the roots of music in America. Their journey led them to the Appalachian and Ozark Mountains and in 2008 they landed a gig in Branson and ended up performing there for two years, mostly at the Dutton Theatre. In 2010 they moved their base to Nashville where the four daughters have been recording, writing music, and becoming deeply rooted in the country music industry. Their style is country, but truly a sound that is real, that is honest, that speaks to your soul without the usual glitz and glamour — just raw beauty with exquisite harmonies, thought provoking lyrics and melodies that take you away! YACA has put together an exciting concert season for the Yankton Community. The following is a highlight of this season’s concerts. 1335 • A TRIBUTE TO THE KING, starring Travis Ledoyt, Wednesday, Oct. 26 — Elvis is coming to town. No, not the “real” Elvis, but the “world’s best young Elvis” according to the New York Times — Travis LeDoyt. You’ll hear them all! • A BAND CALLED HONALEE, Time- less music from the ‘60s, Sunday, Nov. 6 — The three talented young artists of “A Band Called Honalee” take you for a stroll down memory lane with their show! This modern-day folk trio is inspired by the music and legacy of Peter, Paul and Mary, and they keep the crowd captivated by their love of the music and stories of the 60’s. • CHAMBER ORCHESTRA KREM- LIN, direct from Moscow, Saturday, Feb. 25 — Founded in 1991 by its music director, Misha Rachievsky, Chamber Orchestra Kremlin is an ensemble of 14 of the finest young musicians in Moscow. The orchestra is a full-time professional ensemble which enjoys a large and devoted following, not only in Russia, but in many other countries of the world including the United States, Europe, and the Far East. • AMERICA’S ROOTS OF POP, by the Dave Bennett Quartet, Monday, April 24 — A multi-instrument phenom- enon, Dave Bennett, is a clarinet virtuoso who also plays electric guitar, piano, drums and sings! He is one of the only artists saluting THE ROOTS OF POP: covering music from the Swing Era to early Rock-n-Roll and Country, to Elvis Presley and the Beatles … and maybe a little more! Fun Show! • DALLAS BRASS, Brass Quintet w/ Percussion, Friday, April 28 — Since its founding in 1983, the Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary range and musical virtuosity. The Yankton Area Concert Association’s purpose is to cultivate, enrich and provide an opportunity for its members to enjoy quality music in the form of concerts, recitals and various entertainers. It is a non-profit organization based strictly on a membership basis. The Arts make life special in the Yankton community and the YACA board members have selected a broad range of entertainment for the 2016-2017 season.
